The Easterly white labelled fund service allows wealth managers to offer their clients a branded fixed interest fund designed to meet the individual needs and risk appetite of the group. Alternatively we can white label the Easterly high yield product providing a turn key solution.

Cameron Rae

Managing Director

Cameron provides Easterly with 30 years of financial markets experience focused on originating, structuring and managing fixed interest assets. Over the past 8 years Cameron has been at the helm of specialist fixed interest house Laminar Capital which he founded in 2009. Laminar has a proven track record of advising on, and managing fixed interest assets with awards received for its innovation in fixed interest management.

With a strong focus on client relationships and a deep understanding of the operational aspects of the business, Cameron’s clients benefit from the knowledge and expertise accumulated over his career of servicing financial institutions, corporate clients and fund managers.

Cameron’s previous experience includes roles as Senior Vice President of Nomura Securities, Lehman Brothers Australia and heading up the debt capital markets business of Bendigo Bank.

Cameron has a degree in banking and finance from Monash University, post graduate qualifications in finance, is a Certified Finance and Treasury Professional and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jonathan Rochford

Jonathan Rochford

Senior Portfolio Manager

Jonathan is a proven portfolio manager and analyst of Australian credit investments, with a track record of sourcing, managing and realising investments right across the capital structure. Jonathan has Over 15 years of lending experience, including over 13 years on yield focussed investments, exceptional capital structure and sectorial experience including all types of credit in loan, bond, securitisation and listed note formats.

Jonathan is also Portfolio Manager at Narrow Road Capital, an Australian credit funds management business. He invests on behalf of institutional and family office investors in Australian loans, bonds, securitisation and listed notes and has a demonstrated outperformance of benchmarks and his peers in managing these securities.

Prior to working at Narrow Road Capital, he was a senior manager in the institutional distressed debt department at the Commonwealth Bank. In this position, he led the restructuring process for numerous high profile situations for the Commonwealth Bank as well as managing the debt trading function for the department. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager and credit analyst at Lehman Brothers Asset Management across a broad range of yield orientated securities. Jonathan is a CFA® charterholder and has completed the IPA Insolvency Education Program

Rio Tjoa

Analyst / Junior Portfolio Manager

Rio has 5 years financial markets and operational experience with exposures to foreign exchange, money market and financial data. Rio started his career at UBS AG in Singapore as FXMM Client Service Officer covering clients in the Asia Pacific region. Responsibilities included providing post-trade supports in areas such as settlement, confirmation, compliance, on-boarding and account maintenance.

Following Rio’s experience in Asia, he worked for Interactive Data as their Client Support Specialist where one of his main responsibilities was to ensure the successful and timely delivery of financial data while maintaining key relationships with clients.

In 2016, Rio joined specialist fixed interest house Laminar Capital in the role of Dealers Assistant/Analyst. Since then his role has expanded to include responsibility for managing portfolios within Laminar’s fixed interest management and advisory business. Easterly benefits from Rio’s understanding of the end to end process of transacting, managing and settling fixed interest assets.

He has a double degree in Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business Information Systems from Monash University. He is also a certified Financial Information Associate.

Stephen Roberts

Stephen Roberts

Senior Economist

Stephen has worked in the finance industry for over 40 years as a financial strategist and economist.

His extensive career gives him the ability to understand not just what’s happening in the markets but what that means for investors and their portfolios.

Stephen has been a regular contributor to the business press in Australia and overseas commenting on the outlook for the global economy and investment markets.

Stephen’s long career includes 20 years as Australian Chief Economist for various large domestic and international banks. Stephen was the first Treasury Economist at Westpac where he spent time in London and New York.

He has managed money as the portfolio manager specialising in strategic asset allocation overlays for Westpac Investment Management, Sagitta and BT.

Stephen has worked in the economics department of the Bank of New South Wales/ Westpac where he was seconded to the Secretariat of the Australian Financial System Inquiry (Campbell Committee).

Brett Allen

Operations and Settlements Manager

With 10 year’s experience working in back office functions, Brett ensures the rigour of Easterly’s settlements, reporting and compliance frameworks.

His previous roles include settlements team leader at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank where he lead the team responsible for the authorisation and successful completion of cash, fixed interest, derivatives and foreign exchange trades.

He was Citibank (Belfast) trade surveillance officer, monitoring Citibank trading activity in Equities and ETD products for insider trading, pre-arranged and layering. He commenced employment with Laminar Capital in early 2015 as manager of settlements.

Brett has worked in conjunction with software programmers to create and test systems to integrate with existing software and implement specialised applications for fixed interest portfolio management and money market trading – Laminar’s Treasury Direct.

Brett is responsible for the timely settlement of all financial markets transactions undertaken by Easterly
